BUSINESS DEVELOPMENT MANAGER

$120k - $140k + super + commission (OTE $160k - $200k+) – Sydney > Eastern Suburbs / South Sydney

Why this Business Development Manager role for you?

This isn’t a polished Business Development Manager role with a fancy CRM, huge marketing team and layers of management already in place.

It’s the opposite.

It’s a newly created role where you’ll help shape the future growth of a builder/developer that already has live projects, their own developments underway and genuine ambition to grow.

The business has been operating since 2017, with the director having over 15 years’ experience delivering projects across Sydney. They currently have multiple live developments underway with more projects due to commence shortly including a mixed-use development in Botany.

A lot of the current work comes through relationships and their own developments, but they know there is a huge opportunity to grow the business further through stronger partnerships, referrals and commercial connections with external clients.

That’s where you come in.

You’ll have genuine autonomy here and direct access to the owner without layers of management slowing decisions down.

There’s no expectation of weekend networking events, pointless internal reporting or being chained to a desk 5 days a week either.

If you’ve spent years building strong relationships with agents, architects and developers but your current role doesn’t give you the freedom to properly leverage them, this could be exactly the fresh start you’ve been looking for.

The director understands the first 3-6 months will likely focus on relationship building, pipeline creation and putting proper structure in place for long-term success.

Starting salary is in the $120k-$140k + super range plus commission, with realistic OTE around the $170k-$220k mark.

What can you tell me about the business?

  • Builder/developer with multiple live projects and their own developments underway
  • Flexible setup with part-time, full-time or contract options available
  • Direct access to the owner with the ability to influence decisions quickly
  • Opportunity to help implement systems, CRM and growth processes properly
  • Small, hands-on environment where your opinion and experience will genuinely matter
  • Strong flexibility provided around working from home and managing your own schedule

What about you?

You’ve been around the traps a bit and you understand how construction relationships work and you know good opportunities come through trust, reputation and consistent networking.

Your background could be varied and could include;
• Construction business development
• Project management
• Property development
• Real estate
• Hospitality or retail fit-outs
• Your own business background

Either way you’d be comfortable working as a Business Development Manager autonomously and you enjoy building a sales pipeline structure.

You’ll definitely have strong relationships across architects, agents, developers or private clients and confidence representing a business professionally in the market.
