Are you a Project Manager who’s tired of delivering fitout and refurb projects where every job feels like a battle?
Poor planning. Difficult clients. Endless politics. Subbies constantly frustrated because nobody communicates properly. These are problems you are well aware of.
You enjoy running projects properly, but you’re starting to realise the people around you make a massive difference to whether the job is enjoyable or a complete headache.
You are starting to think there must be better options out there that stop me pulling my hair out!
Well this role will retain your hairline. They are a builder that has built its reputation through repeat business and quality delivery rather than trying to be the biggest name in the market.
Around 80% of their work comes from repeat clients including major groups like Dexus, GPT and colliers which says a lot about how they operate and the relationships they maintain.
Historically the business has specialised in commercial fit-out and refurbs, but over the last few years they’ve successfully expanded into education and government projects which now make up around 20% of their workload.
That growth is continuing.
You’d be delivering and targeting projects in the $1.5m-$6m range but they are actively positioning themselves for larger government opportunities moving forward and have done up to $10million in the past.
You’ll work across live project environments where communication, organisation and quick decision-making are critical.
And you won’t need to shoulder all the load. Project teams are made up of a SM, foreman, CA and cadet, meaning you’ll have proper support around and won’t need to work ridiculous hours.
The directors and senior leadership team are hands-on, approachable and make decisions quickly. There’s very little politics internally and the culture is genuinely collaborative.
Importantly, this is a business that prefers promoting from within rather than constantly hiring externally. 9 staff members in NSW were promoted internally last financial year alone.
Starting salary is in the $180k-$200k + super range plus discretionary bonuses and regular salary reviews based on performance.
You’re already running fitout projects as a Project Manager and feel confident managing the full delivery process from procurement through to project completion.
You like to mentor and help others and you’ve been across live environment projects before and understand the complications that arise from them. Particularly when they are D+C.
You understand how important client relationships are and you know that repeat business only happens when projects are delivered properly.
