Why is this role for me?

You’re an estimator who has new build experience on projects up to $20million and now you want a new challenge and step up in your career.

You enjoy the diversity of working on different types of projects, you’ll never get bored with a mix of heritage, industrial, commercial, retail and hospitality tenders.

Rather than just churning through tenders all the time you want to be more involved in the front end of the project, and as a builder that does a lot of ECI with repeat clients this role will give you that opportunity.

With the support of the director, you’d get to look at feasibility and designs, visit sites and clients and make a real impact on tender success and win rates.

Working for the smaller business unit (projects team) of a larger company means you’ll get the chance to grow a team around you, whilst at the same time you’ll be able to bounce ideas off the 5 estimators in the office environment.

What can you tell me about the company?

First of all, they are a cracking group of people to work with which is demonstrated by their high staff retention rate and long-term employees. (27 of 70+ staff have been there 10 years or more).

With a track record in the construction industry over 35 years what they don’t know about building probably isn’t worth knowing.

Working for the projects team (15 staff) you’ll be part of a flexible unit that turnover $35million and is growing year on year so it’s a great time to join them. ($150million T/O across whole business)

You’d work within the estimating team of 5 but you’d solely focus on tenders from $2-$15million for the project’s division of the company.


How can you be successful as an estimator in this role?

You’ll be a confident estimator who can work independently and have at least 7 years’ experience tendering a mix of new build projects.

You’ll be keen to develop your skills and want to have career opportunities in the future into more senior roles, but for now you are happy to get the work done with a good win rate.

This role is for a very reputable and well-known builder who have a great name in NSW and always hire new employees for the long term.
