Why is this role for you?

Let’s be honest, construction estimating is a tough gig.

Most of your work and effort is wasted each month through tenders you haven’t won and when you do win them it’s the PM’s and site team that get all the praise after delivery.

You often think there must be a better and smarter way to do it, there must be ways you can improve your skills and be more efficient.

Well, this role and company ticks those thoughts you are having. It will change your mindset, making you a happier person both in and out of work.

You’d get 1-2-1 mentorship from your boss (who used to work at FDC) and what they don’t know about estimating isn’t worth remembering.

They are very selective with their hard dollar tenders and over 50 % of their work is negotiated price with repeat clients meaning your time isn’t wasted just churning out work.

With staff retention at 91% over the last 3 years the team enjoy working there as everyone helps each other, the office culture is friendly and sporty and you will get the chance to climb the career ladder.

Salary starts in the $120-$1560k package range and you’ll also get $400 a year to go towards one of your hobbies/interests.

They pay a yearly bonus and have free office parking and they are very close to a train station if public transport is easier for you.

If you enjoy estimating but have fell out of love with it or need a new challenge and to stretch your skillset then this is the role for you..

I’m really interested, but can I do this job?

You don’t need to be the finished article to apply for this role. You’d get training and support from day 1 but you will need to have at least the following 4 attributes;

  • You live within a 40-minute commute of Gordon
  • You’ve got 4+ years of estimating experience in Australia with a head contractor
  • You have won projects and tenders before in the $1-$10million range and you’d like to work on bigger projects.
  • You have experience on any of the following types of projects, education, commercial, health or government – it doesn’t have to be new build, fit out works just as well
