Safety Advisor / Coordinator

Why is this Safety Advisor role for you?

You’re a Safety Advisor or Safety Coordinator and you’ve spent the last few years working on construction sites and enjoy safety, but you don’t want to be stuck on one site 6 days a week.

You want a mix and some of the perks of being in the office. Around 70% of your week will be office-based in Gordon, with the rest spent visiting projects across Sydney. It breaks up the week and gives you exposure to different teams and projects.

More importantly, you’ll be the 2iC to a hands-on Safety Manager who has been with the business for 20 years. He’s a lovely guy, knows the business inside out and will help broaden your skills and develop you towards a more senior role.

Safety is taken seriously here. Hammertech and Procore are already in place, projects are properly resourced and you’ll work across health, education, government and commercial projects worth $10-$70m.

The staff retention rate is around 91%, which says a lot. People enjoy working here and tend to stick around. They are a builder with a top reputation in Sydney.

Subbies are paid on time (they pay my invoices within a week too), the business is financially stable, and projects are well resourced. Which means fewer headaches for you.

Salary is in the $150k-$170k + super range. There are no Saturdays, free parking at the office, a yearly health and wellbeing allowance and plenty of team events and social activities you can get involved in.

This role sounds great, but what experience are you looking for?

To be in with a shout, you just need to tick these 5 points:

• 3+ years’ experience working on new build construction projects worth $20m+ in Australia
• Cert IV in WHS. FSC experience would be a bonus
• You’ve been involved in audits and consider yourself a strong communicator with subbies and clients
• You’re good at following systems and processes and have previously used Procore or Hammertech
• You like the idea of being the 2iC, learning from an experienced manager and putting yourself in line for progression
